Think outside the box and select a more unique venue rather than a standard hotel or conference centre!
Here are a few of the more unusual venues which we think would work well for your next business meeting or corporate event in Amsterdam:
The National Maritime Museum
The National Maritime Museum has beautiful event spaces, exceptional service offerings and is uniquely located at the waters edge in the centre of Amsterdam. The monumental building dates from 1656 and is an outstanding location for all sorts of (business & corporate) events. It was designed as a warehouse for the Admiralty of Amsterdam and, over 350 years later, it is a highly popular location for small and large groups.
The venue offers various multifunctional rooms for inspiring meetings in elegant surroundings.
The Open Courtyard is the central hall of the building and, with the added bonus of a glass roof, this space can be used all year round for events, reception and dinners. The space can accommodate up to 700 guests for a seated dinner or up to 1,000 people for a party. It is available to hire, most evenings, after the museum closes at 17.00hrs.
The Chambers, with views over the water, are best suited for meetings and offers state-of-the-art facilities. These three rooms can each be hired separately or inter-connect via doors and windows. They can accommodate 150, 80 & 80 theatre style and are available to hire both daytime and evening.
The Admiralty Boardroom works well for more intimate dinners or Directors board meetings. It can seat up to 20 people. The furniture in this space is contemporary but the room retains all maritime allure of days gone by.
And for something really unique, they have two outdoor floating terraces located on the West side of the museum. Each terrace can hold a maximum of 75 guests, decorated with fixed lounge furniture, parasols and high tables.
Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ
A leading concert venue in an iconic building, this venue is in a great position overlooking the water.
Being a large scale venue it is equipped with the latest AV and tech to accompany any style of event.
It is easily accessible, with on-site parking located under the building, a tram stop outside the main doors and Amsterdam Central Station is only a 15 minute walk away.
The venue has a range of flexible event spaces accommodating up to 1300 delegates, and can offer very unique spaces where floors can be parted, chairs & walls removed easily and swiftly to allow a quick turnaround of spaces where needed.
The Entrehall is a great space for networking, drinks or catering and provides panoramic views over the terrace and the River IJ.
De Bazel, Amsterdam
Conference centre De Bazel offers you a choice of 10 meeting rooms and 2 reception rooms. The old grandeur of the building and the surprising tranquillity in the centre of Amsterdam’s beating heart makes it an ideal location for your meetings, receptions, dinners and drinks. The rooms are flexible in their capacity and offer a variety of styles.
The third floor was formerly the meeting rooms of the Board of Directors of the Dutch Trading Company.
On this level the King´s Room, 4 meeting rooms and a lobby, can be transformed for intimate meetings, dinners to 100, conferences to 200 and receptions for 350 guests. The large sliding doors can connect the King’s Room with the adjoining rooms.
The second floor offers, besides the surprising Italian Room, three break-out rooms and the Bodeplein, which is an ideal space for drinks and receptions. The Central Hall on the ground floor can offer space for dinners for up to 350 and receptions up to 500 people.
Boom Chicago
Boom Chicago combines great facilities and creative spaces for any business event.
The venue, on the Rozengracht, was a former cinema built in 1913. After a recent transformation, the warm, industrial space has been turned into three theatres and break-out spaces. The main theatre can accommodate up to a maximum of 330 people seated and 500 people standing. The other 2 theatres can seat 100 and 35 people respectively.
In addition to breakout rooms, offices, and other smaller studios available within the venue, they also have an impressive bar with high ceilings and the original stained glass windows. This space can accommodate up to 200 people for a standing reception.

We are very excited about a brand new and unique convention venue, located next to the waterside, due to be available from Autumn 2024 onwards – the Maritim Hotel Amsterdam located in the Overhoeks district.
This new hotel will be one of the largest event hotels in Europe, once opened! The hotel will include two state-of-the-art event halls with capacities at 2,142 & 1,035 theatre style and a further 23 meeting rooms.
