 In Venue visits

Yesterday we decided to meet as a team in person rather than on Zoom!  We all have a part to play to encourage everyone to return to live events and so we thought, why not combine a team meeting and also have an opportunity to see a Hotel at the same time!

Claire from Alexander Hotels invited us to Barnett Hill Hotel and as this is a venue not that far from our office, it worked well. It also gave us the opportunity to do a full site inspection, as the last time we visited it, Alexander Hotels had only recently taken it over and were still refurbishing some of the areas.

We had our meeting in the Acer Suite which is located on the 1st floor and has fantastic views of the grounds and the Surrey Hills beyond.

The Hotel lends itself well to exclusive use hire so if you are looking to hold your event in an elegant Queen Anne style country house do get in touch

After our meeting Claire met with us and gave us a guided tour around the Hotel.

The 56 bedrooms are split between the Main House and Courtyard Building. All the bedrooms are light, colourful and airy and, particularly a large number of the bedrooms in the Main House, have fantastic views of the Surrey Hills, stunning!

The rooms have been beautifully designed and some of the bathrooms are huge – all offering fantastic facilities.

There are a 5 main meeting rooms along with some smaller syndicate rooms.

The largest meeting room is the Garden Room which can accommodate up to 70 people theatre style (not allowing for social distancing) or 35 theatre style based on current COVID measures.

The Drawing Room is an attractive walnut panelled room with period features which has doors opening onto the Gardens. (This room was in use so we could only peek in when we walked past!)

Tucked away in the Eaves are a series of meeting rooms which would work well as a main meeting room with breakouts or for training.

For a private dinner for up to 20 people (not allowing for social distancing) they can offer one of their newer rooms, the Wine Room, where you can combine a private dinner with a wine tasting.

The Hotel is set in 26 acres so plenty of space to roam and the south facing lawn can be used for team building activities (not motorised).

The Library is used for Silent Pool Gin themed afternoon tea tastings and it’s decorated in the colours and theme of the Gin– we loved the glass feature in this room!

We finished with a delicious lunch in the Oak Hall and it was so nice to see other guests in the room enjoying the Hotel and eating inside (rather than face the inclement weather outside!).

Barnett Hill is part of the Alexander Hotel group. There are 5 Hotels in the group which includes Great Fosters also in Surrey, Langshott Manor and Alexander House in Sussex and last but not least Rowhill Grange in Kent.

All have their own unique feel and are of the same high standard and décor as Barnett Hill. These Hotels can also be booked exclusively, if required, and two of the Hotels have a Utopia Spa.
