In Destination Guides

A destination in the heart of the UK within 4 hours travel time of 90% of the UK’s Consumer and Business Market and with undeniable connectivity, it’s no surprise that Birmingham is the most popular conference and events location outside of the capital. This is certainly reflected in our enquiries.

Access to the City is easy; Birmingham Airport is the UK’s third largest, it serves 143 routes and train journeys from London can take just 80 minutes.

Birmingham is a city  full of innovators and creators and it has seen incredible investment and regeneration over recent years. The city boasts  world-class venues with state of the art facilities and there are now more than 36,000 bed spaces to accommodate these events.

The destination has plenty to see and do. There is a colourful arts scene and exciting history, reflected in the many galleries and museums across the City. Its rich diversity is expressed through the food scene with Michelin delights to award-winning Street Food.

There are venues in Birmingham to suit every brief. For a Meeting or Dinner with an atmosphere, Fazeley Studios has a 19th century chapel with gothic architecture. Or if you are after something a bit more modern The Studio offers a selection of contemporary spaces including a rooftop terrace. The ICC has 10 conference halls along with 10 executive meeting rooms hosting events for numbers up to 3000, it has nearby accommodation and is in a central location.

Out of the City Centre, the NEC also offers spaces for big events. When it was originally opened by HM The Queen in 1976 it had 7 exhibition halls, it now has 19! and that’s not counting the 34 conference suites that go with it. It now plays host to 500 events and 6 million guests a year.

Even though it’s not located in the city centre, there are a large number of purpose-built hotels on the resort such as Novotel, Hilton and Crowne Plaza to meet all your accommodation needs and the motorway links and train connections are excellent.

There are venues to suit all specifications across the whole of Midlands, not just Birmingham. There are training and conference centres that have been purpose-built to host these types of events alongside traditional hotels.

If you are looking to escape for an Away Day or Team building day there are a great variety of country house hotels across areas such as Coventry, Stratford-upon-Avon and Leicester to choose from.

If you are looking for a venue that is a bit more unique then there are lots of options both in and around Birmingham.

For sporting fans, there are Football Stadiums such as Aston Villa and Leicester City FC and Cricket Grounds like Edgbaston who can offer any event from a day Conference to a Dinner to an exhibition.

For animal lovers, there are plenty of choices; Birmingham Zoo, Sealife Centre, West Midlands Safari Park and Twycross Zoo to name a few.

If you wish to treat your team to a day at the races, the courses at Warwick, Nottingham and Uttoexeter all offer great packages.

And for something really different, why not hold a Medieval Banquet or try yourself as a Knight for the day at Warwick Castle?

Why not consider the Midlands when booking your next corporate event?
