Most people would agree that Italy is a fantastic destination for a holiday (in fact tourism is one of the country’s major industries, generating more than 10% of the national GDP) but it is also a perfect destination for business and corporate events.

It has many international airports, modern and prestigious infrastructures that guarantee high-quality service and breath-taking landscapes.

For this blog we are focusing on one city, Milan as a conference and events destination.

Where and how?

Milan is located in the centre of Europe internationally known as the capital of fashion, shopping, design and the financial centre of Italy. Also known as being a city of dining experiences and nightlife with over 450 restaurants offering the best of Milanese, Italian and international cuisine.

Given its prime location, Milan is extremely accessible, with three international airports operating flights to over 150 destinations. It also has high-speed international and national railways connections and an efficient public transportation network.

Rich in history

Milan is an ancient city rich in history, culture and art. It’s the City of Leonardo da Vinci and the Last Supper, Duomo Cathedral and La Scala Opera House which has spaces available for private hire or can be explored via a Private Tour as an incentive in addition to an event.

The City is also home to modern medical-scientific research centres, prestigious universities and nearly 90 museums; made up of art galleries and exhibitions in history, fashion, science, architecture and design.

Hotels and Venues

Milan boasts more than 380 Hotels totalling over 25,000 rooms, it offers a range of choices in style and star rating.

Almost all of the upmarket hotels are equipped with their own meeting and conference spaces. Many of which are being constantly renovated and supplied with the latest high-tech AV devices, these Hotels allow the best functionality and comfort for each event.

The Hotels are located in the heart of Milan or next to one of the major exhibition centres.

For the larger conferences there are two convention centres in Milan;

The Fiero Milano is the largest with 45,000 square metres of meeting and exhibition space, adjoining the NH Fiero Milano and located just outside the city but is easily accessible by public transport.

The second is Fiero’s old space, Fiero Milano City with 43,009 square metres of space including the MiCo Conference Centre (which can accommodate up to 18,000 within its 72 rooms).

Partner Programmes and Off site venues

Milan’s strategic position allows many day-trip opportunities, special MICE venues in Milan’s outskirts include La Sforza Castle at Lake Como, less than an hour by car away.

Having such easy access to this desired location means that delegates benefit from both business and pleasure when booking venues in Milan.

Cultural trips can also be organised to Monza  or the city of Pavia, which make interesting destinations full of history and monuments.

Efficient high-speed train connections enable you to reach further locations such Verona, the city of Romeo & Juliet, or Venice with its characteristic canals.
