Lainston Country House Hotel, situated in Winchester, is part of the Exclusive Hotel group and we were thrilled when they asked to be featured on our website feature ‘Venue of the Season’. The Hotel has so much to offer that we will need several blogs over the next few months to highlight everything – we would love to keep it a secret but that wouldn’t be fair…….
So for this blog I am going to talk about the key features which we will cover in more depth over the next few months.
Set in a great location two miles north-west of Winchester, Hampshire, under an hour from London and 20 minutes from Southampton Airport. Ideal for those clients who are looking for a venue not too far from London.
The House has been a Hotel since 1981 with the present owners taking over in 1983. Since then there has been continuous refurbishments to keep Lainston up to date with all the requirements a modern Hotel should offer whilst still retaining the charm of a country house.
There are 50 bedrooms in total – a mixture of guest bedrooms and suites. Each one is individually designed so no two are the same and are individually named. Some of the rooms offer a variety of special features such as four poster beds, spa baths, steam showers and Gardens.
Lainston House is the perfect location to host meetings, conferences, car launches or incentive trips with a range of 7 flexible meeting and event spaces including the beautifully restored 17th Century Dawley Barn.
Behind an old wooden gate, discreetly sheltered in the grounds of the hotel, lies a secret, ancient, walled kitchen garden which has been restored beyond its former glory. Apart from supplying the hotel with fresh herbs and vegetables, the Kitchen Garden has become the perfect location for early evening drinks parties or afternoon tea. The hotel has many fruit tree along with a kiwi plant in the Loggia producing up to 80lbs every Winter.
The Hotel can offer many Teambuilding activities, which I will blog about in a separate post, along with Seasons Cookery School which offers a range of classes designed to appeal to novice and confident home cooks designed to challenge and hone their chef skills.
