Dubai – your next conference destination
As the most highly populated of the United Arab Emirates, it is no wonder Dubai has developed into a global city and thus a business hub of the Middle East. Known for its luxury shopping, year round sunshine and spectacular and ultramodern architecture, hotels and venues, Dubai is an outstanding destination for your meetings and incentive travel trips. In the 2014 International Congress and Convention Associations rankings Dubai was ranked 44th worldwide and 12th in the Asia Pacific and Middle East Region. It may well rank higher leading up to and beyond the World Expo which it is due to host in 2020 further promoting the destination.
Travel
Flying into Dubai is simple from most countries with direct access from over 260 destinations worldwide. Dubai has two main airports, Dubai International Airport which serves 125 airlines and operates over 7,000 weekly flights and the Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International Airport which was converted in 2013 to a passenger airport and currently increasing its number of runways. Emirates, the official airline of Dubai, also has an extensive air fleet flying daily to 140 destinations.
Activities
Delegates will be spoilt for choice in Dubai when it comes to activities. Tours of theatres, artistic retreats and galleries are available as well as indulging in sky diving, hot air ballooning, desert safaris, speedboat trips, indoor skiing or snowboarding, shopping in the Dubai Mall. You can also visit the Dubai aquarium and underwater zoo or take a sea plane or helicopter trip over the city.
Why not have spoil yourself by having afternoon tea at the Burj al Arab, view camel racing or camel polo or brave the observation deck at the Burj Khalifa building, the world’s tallest building standing at just under 830m tall and see the entire city of Dubai from amongst the clouds.
