Welcome to our first Destination Guide. In the first part of our new feature Destination Guides we are focusing on Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital, which is heading up the ranks as it offers a diverse and exciting conference destination for delegates.
From being 212th in 2011 on the International Congress and Convention Associations rankings to 125th in 2014 and also ranking 26th best city for conferences and meetings in Asia Pacific and Middle East, it is on the rise. Not only is Hanoi suitable for your conference needs, it also great for incentive travel.
Travel
Noi Bai International Airport is just over 35km from the centre of the city, 45km from downtown and is one of the country’s biggest airports offering several international and domestic routes. With Vietnam Airlines operating within Heathrow offering non-stop services three times a week to Noi Bai, international delegates can arrive in around 11 hours.
Activities for your Conference Delegates
Whilst in Vietnam’s capital it will be important for your delegates to have some free time exploring and taking in the city. Hanoi offers many incentive activities for your delegates to enjoy. Popular for its brilliant but cheap street food and brewed beer, delegates can spend an evening tasting local food and drink in ‘The Old Town’ should they so wish. There are many attractions including beautiful lakes, pagodas, temples, military museums, tours, seeing traditional handicrafts practices within Hanoi and many ancient architectural works such as the Old Quarter.
As well as this, there are opportunities to have homestays with locals, see rice paddies and go trekking or on overnight cruises. So plenty to keep them busy between meetings or to see for themselves and further recommend.
