Whilst in London recently, attending a site inspection with a client, I took the opportunity to visit a venue I hadn’t seen before. The Wallace Collection is a national museum, open to the public, housed at Hertford House in Manchester Square, just off Oxford Street, it is also a unique venue for an evening event.
Wallace Collection – a unique venue for corporate events
Hertford House is a spectacular setting for entertaining & can host a variety of events. The glamorous galleries and the contrasting contemporary glazed Courtyard makes it the perfect venue for corporate entertaining. There are 25 opulent galleries which displays a mixture of French 18th century along with masterpieces by some of the greatest European painters such as Rembrandt and Titian.
I have highlighted below 3 of the spaces you can hire for a corporate event:
The Courtyard was originally the Hertford family’s garden and was created as a contemporary space in 2000. By day it is known as the Wallace Restaurant and serves breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea. By night it can be transformed into a stunning event space for up to 300 people for a drinks reception and 160 for dinner, however it is equally well suited for smaller numbers.
There are a number of Private View options available which really add to a Courtyard Reception format: Private View of the Ground Floor Armouries (which is new this year) or Private View of the Drawing Room Suite, or a Private View of the latest temporary exhibition
The First Floor Drawing Rooms are a stunning suite of 5 galleries offering guests the opportunity to network alongside unsurpassed displays of 18th century paintings, furniture and porcelain. These set of rooms would be ideal for a drinks reception or pre-dinner drinks as there are five interlocking gallery spaces, each holding no more than 25 people.
For the first time the Wallace Collection can offer the opportunity to dine in the Venetian Gallery. Guests can enjoy pre-dinner drinks and canapés in the refurbished first floor drawing rooms followed by dinner surrounded by the great collection of Venetian paintings including the famous Canaletto landscapes.
The Wallace Collection works with an accredited list of suppliers to cover all the elements of your event, from catering and production through to floristry and entertainment. We would work with these suppliers to create your bespoke event.
I was really impressed with the venue and think it would offer a real wow for a special event and if you are looking for a unique venue then this is definitely one to consider. It feels very opulent when you walk in and, because some of the rooms are small, still feels like the home it once was. There is a room for your event whatever the numbers.
There is only ever one event taking place at a time so your event would feel very exclusive.
