2019 bought many exciting, new venue additions to the MICE London market and 2020 is set to offer just the same.

There are just over 65 new Hotel London openings this year along with many more already established properties due to be redeveloped or refurbished

Here are some of the new London openings that you may wish to consider for your forthcoming events in 2020.....

CIty of London

The Londoner

Due to open in June 2020, this will be a five star hotel located in Leicester Square. Edwardian hotels have described the hotel as “the World’s first super boutique hotel”.

The hotel will have around 350 bedrooms over eight storeys above ground. It will also house 2 cinemas, bars, restaurants & a ballroom to accommodate up to 964 guests. These will be located over the 6 floors located underground.

Being over 30 metres deep this will make it the deepest basement hotel in London.

Pan Pacific London

Due to open in the latter half of 2020, this will be the group’s first UK hotel. It will be located in London’s financial district, within close walking distance of Liverpool Street Station.

It will offer 237 guest bedrooms including a penthouse suite on the 18th floor with views over the city skyline. They will be opening the first dedicated smart ballroom in the city which can accommodate up to 370 people in a banquet style along with 6 other dedicated conference rooms.

There will also be a spa and other leisure facilities.

Watch out for more details on this venue as the development progresses.

Pan Pacific London

Nobu Hotel, Portman Square

Opening in mid Summer this year, located in the heart of London’s Marylebone, this hotel will have 249 bedrooms and suites, a Ballroom and a few other smaller event spaces.

Page8, Charing Cross

Located in St Martin’s Place, London, this 138 bedroom has no meeting spaces but a 180 seat rooftop restaurant with 360 degree views of London.

It has just opened and is an urban, boutique hotel incorporating local influences in the design and communal areas inviting guests to meet together

nhow London, East London

Opened in January 2020, the UK’s first nhow Hotel is located in East London and ideal if you are looking for something a bit quirky or clients looking to think outside the box!

A design-led, lifestyle hotel, it has 190 uniquely decorated bedrooms, 6 event laboratories to choose from for up to 50 guests, the Bell & Whistle pub serving traditional food and a small gym.

Melia Kensington

After an extensive refurbishment and rebranding, Melia Kensington will re-open this January. It is a boutique hotel located in the heart of Kensington and was formerly known as Rydges Kensington.

The hotel’s restaurant, SW7 re-opened back in November serving British cuisine with a refined cocktail bar. It has 3 event spaces boasting natural daylight and can accommodate up to 120 guests.

 

Battersea Power Station

The £9 billion development is due to be completed in late 2020. It will include 3 event spaces as follows:

  • A 4.600sqm space to host live music shows, product launches, dinners & conferences.
  • The ‘Event Box’ which will be able to accommodate up to 1500 people.
  • A viewing platform at the top of one of the iconic chimneys.
