Our newest member of the team Laura had her first experience of a weekend fam trip recently visiting two of the Sarova Hotels. Here is her blog ….

I attended my first FAM trip last weekend staying at The Bull Hotel in Gerrards Cross, part of the Sarova Hotels. I could invite one guest; my mum was the lucky chosen one.
Upon arrival we met Jenny (Sales Director) who was leading the trip, she was most welcoming and she conducted the show around of the meeting rooms. They offer four large suites and one private dining room, all with natural daylight, three of which can be divided into separate soundproof rooms, ideal for smaller meetings or breakout areas. During our stay there was a Wedding and a Private Reception so we got to view the rooms fully set up, complete with the installed mood lighting, this really gave you a feel for the flexibility and tailor make each event to make them feel different. The hotel was almost Tardis like; small from the outside but so spacious and facilitating inside.

Following this we were transferred over to Windsor where we had a show around of the Sir Christopher Wren Hotel, situated right on the River Thames. The conference centre is separate to the main house so offers a peaceful environment and seclusion for meetings. All rooms feature natural daylight, air conditioning and free WIFI. We were also given a tour of the bedrooms, all of which are decorated beautifully. My favourite bedroom was the Sir Christopher Wren Room itself because of the oak paneling, characterful furniture and of course the grand scale of it all. Literally a step out of the door from the dining rooms takes you to where our boat was moored for our afternoon tea cruise. This was a great experience, the food was tasty and plentiful and we braved the arctic temperatures to sit on the top deck for a while and take in the views.

On return to the hotel we were given the key to our room.  It was of a high standard and I was impressed with the attention to detail. At 7:30pm we headed to the Garden Room for Dinner looking out over the beautiful outside space. The food truly deserves it’s AA Rosette, it was delicious. Jenny, Karl (General Manager) and a couple of ladies from the events team joined us and were so accommodating and down to earth. In the evening we enjoyed a brilliant magic show, I still can’t work out any of the tricks. Then it was off to bed for a very comfortable night’s sleep.
