Looking back on our visit to the Aviator Hotel in Farnborough
It is important not to forget our local Hotels when we do site inspections and the Aviator was no exception with it being only a 15 minute drive from our offices in Farnham.
Although most of us have driven past this hotel many times we hadnot managed to visit or view the facilities, so it was a great opportunity. From the outside you would not necessarily know this was a hotel, understated and office like in appearance. In fact the hotel has been built and designed in the shape of an aeroplane propellor !
It is the first TAG Group hotel in the UK and offers guests a stylish, striking venue with amazing views over Farnborough airport.
The event spaces are located on the ground floor with its own private entrance. All the meeting rooms are named after old aeroplanes or famous people within the flight industry. They all offer natural daylight with a number of the rooms opening onto the outside space at the back of the hotel. The largest space, the Wright Room can accommodate up to 110 guests for a theatre style presentation. The grounds lend themselves well for Summer parties, team-building events (non-motorised) & evening drinks receptions.
Also located on the ground floor are the Brasserie, an intimate, formal dining experience, and One Eleven which is designed as an American loft / diner servings pizzas, burgers etc.. We dined in the Brasserie and the food was extremely good and of a high standard.
Within the Brasserie they also have 2 small private dining rooms where clients can have a more intimate dining experience.
The Sky Bar is located on the 1st floor and has large windows for guests to watch the planes take-off and land. Their cocktails are apparently very good (unfortunately we did not get a chance to sample as we were all driving afterwards)!
Sky Lounge
They also use their 4th Floor & Sky Lounge area as an event space which works well for drinks receptions up to 150 guests. This room also has airside views.
We were all really impressed with the décor and size of the Aviator bedrooms. The interiors are contemporary but feel very warm and comforting. They would suit both corporate or leisure guest.
Aviator Studio
It was great to finally get the chance to visit The Aviator, I would have no hesitation in booking any of our clients both for accommodation & events.
