Whilst the Six Nations are in full swing we are reminded about our recent trip to Twickenham Stadium – not just a rugby stadium but also a great venue for a corporate event. This is Catherine’s thoughts on the evening…..
Twickenham Stadium “the home of English Rugby”, is located close to central London and only 6 miles from Heathrow. It has over 2,000 free car parking spaces on site.
With excellent facilities and flexible meeting space, Twickenham can cater for large-scale corporate events, private dinners and receptions. In total there are 25 event spaces along with 150 executive boxes, providing delegates with a view of the famous playing field of our national rugby team.
Although located outside of Central London it is always a venue worth considering when looking to book a conference room in London as the access is excellent and the free car parking on site is a bonus.
They are currently working on expanding their conference facilities and are extending the space in the East stand to include 5 levels of dining & entertaining space plus a roof terrace. This should all be completed by Autumn 2018.
It was such a treat to be invited to view their conference & hospitality event spaces. For both Kate & I being rugby fans this was a great opportunity to see behind the scenes.
The tour of the venue was extensive but very informative and extremely useful to see how flexible the event space is. We were given a Stadium Tour so we got to sit in the Royal Box and walk onto the pitch through the players’ tunnel (we also saw the England changing rooms)
We also visited the onsite 4 star Marriott hotel with their 156 bedrooms, some overlooking the pitch. The hotel is connected to the stadium event by an internal walkway so ideal for residential conferences.
We were finally escorted to the Twickenham Cellar for a mouth-watering, 5 course dinner. This room is so unique and ideal for VIP dinners for up to 14 people. This is a hidden, unknown gem featuring vintage wines, ports and regal style furnishings.
Many thanks to our hosts on what was an extremely enjoyable evening; Adrienne Tilzey, Maria Scullion, Louise Dormer and Emily Pritchard.
So if you are looking for something a bit different for your next corporate event, maybe something a little different or unique why not consider Twickenham?
If your venue request is not for London then we work with many other similar unique venues around the UK why not get in touch – we would love to hear from you!
