When it comes to corporate events, there are so many different types of spaces to choose from and the question is, which venue is best for your event? This is where a good venue finder can help you make the right choice.
You may be amazed by how many different types of venues there are – some you will know and some you may not be aware that you can book for an event.
In this blog we’re exploring the different types of venues that you can book for an event – whether it is for a conference, meeting, training course, dinner or social activity.
Hotels
Hotels are a one stop shop, you can hold everything under one roof. Hotels are a great choice offering meeting, food, beverage and accommodation all on site and delegates don’t have to leave the premises.
There are so many different styles of Hotels and there is sure to be one that will suit your company ethos, budget and style of event. Some examples are:
Modern trendy hotels
Country house hotels
City hotels
Boutique hotels
Resort hotels
Large convention style hotels
Conferences/Training Centres
Conference centres lend themselves very well to training style meetings but nowadays offer a broad spectrum of space for other events. Most centres have good facilities with plenty of natural daylight. Conference Centres are tailor made for conferences and usually include much of the AV, which can help when budgeting.
Colleges and Universities
Most colleges and universities make their facilities available for corporate events. Some can only be booked during the university holidays but some also offer their spaces during termtime. The rates can be very competitive and can suit those with a lower budget.
Stadia and sporting grounds
Stadium and arena venues not only offer some of the most flexible event spaces but they also offer great transport links and often car parking on site.
An added plus for these venues is holding your event where many great sportsman have played and can be used as an attraction to your delegates. Some also offer a tour around the grounds so your delegates can see and experience ‘backroom space’ not normally shown to the public
Theatres, Cinemas, Screening Rooms
This style of venue offers something different, the added ‘glamour’ factor! The tiered seating allows a comfortable experience whilst their technology can allow you to deliver an event with the wow factor!
As cinemas are not so busy with screenings during the day they can offer very reasonable rates for daytime events
Museums and Art Galleries
The UK has some amazing Museums and Art Galleries offering a range of spaces, some of which can be booked during the day and others which can only be booked when the venues are closed. These venues can create a unique and amazing event, great for drinks receptions and dinners
Castles, Palaces and Stately Homes
If you are really looking for somewhere with a wow factor then look no further than one of these venues. Be prepared to pay a little more but you know the saying ‘you get what you pay for’
Historic venues
The UK is steeped in history so it’s no surprise that there are some great historic venues where you can hold an event. Choose from medieval and Livery Halls to Churchill’s wartime bunker. From ancient Roman artefacts, mighty Cathedrals, to a grade II listed Victorian Bath House, to name just a few!
Exclusive use venues
Did you know you could book a venue on an exclusive use basis? If you are looking for something just for your group or if the event has confidential content then this is an option to consider. As an alternative version some venues can offer partial exclusive use where a building away from the main house can be booked on an exclusive use basis so you are not paying for the whole venue.
Private Dinner venues
Looking to book a private dinner? There are venues that can offer a private space for 10 people or a Gala dinner for 1000 and anything in between!
Rooftop venues and venues with outdoor space
These have been particularly popular in the last two years and there are now some fabulous venues that can offer outside space particularly good for summer parties and drinks receptions.
Venues with an activity
This is another venue type which we have seen an increase in interest in, during the past couple of years. Teams and groups are looking to go out and have some fun or companies looking for an alternative way to entertain clients – Golf Days, Crystal Maze for example.
London Bars & Restaurants
These venues are ideal for drinks receptions or parties on an exclusive basis or just hiring a private room or space in a bar or restaurant. However they can also be used as quirky venues for a meeting or presentation if you are looking for something a little different.
And many more for example…..
