n these unprecedented times, when it may no longer be possible or practical to get together in person, virtual conferences, meetings and events are a way of maintaining contact with colleagues and clients. It will never replace face to face interaction, but a virtual event can be extremely engaging, if managed successfully, and can extend your reach with your audience even further.
The technology has been around for several years however, perhaps due to necessity, it has come along in leaps and bounds over the last few months and virtual events have become a key part of present event planning.

Accessibility
With no travel required, virtual events can enable you to reach a global audience instantly. Due to the nature of virtual, the event can easily be recorded in full and, for example, if your event was to run over 2-3 consecutive days (perhaps 2-4 hours per day), daily recordings can be made available on-demand on the virtual conferencing platform. This is particularly pertinent if your audience reach is global, as some delegates will be watching and participating during unsociable hours and may wish to catch-up on demand at their own leisure. This also provides a library for all collateral which will be presented at the event and which could then be available to delegates for a period of time post event.
Engagement
You can use live or pre-recorded content, Q&As and live polling to engage and interact with your audience.
Multi-room live-streams
As well as the main plenary session, you can run parallel sessions in different ‘rooms’ and delegates can choose which session to attend, depending on their particular interest.
Exhibitors/Sponsors
There is now fab software available which integrates with the webcasting platform, making the delegate experience with sponsors and exhibitors fully immersive. Exhibitor booths can be virtual interactive spaces with Event Manager assistance available in each room.
