Prior to setting up DeSouza Associates Lida worked in the pharmaceutical industry for GSK and, in her penultimate role, she was actively involved in organising meetings and events, working closely with marketing and clinical teams to fulfil agreed plans, pre and post launch of various therapeutics.
Lida DeSouza has acted as Secretariat to the Antiviral Group of The International Society for Influenza and Other Respiratory Virus Diseases (ISIRV) for many years. The ISIRV-Antiviral Group was formerly known as NISN and we have worked with NISN since 1998.
Under the ISIRV-AVG umbrella, DeSouza Associates has been involved in organising several international medical conferences: Brazil in 2011, Vietnam in 2012, Japan in 2014, USA (Texas) in 2015, Shanghai, China in 2017 and USA (Washington DC & Seattle, WA) in 2018 and 2023.
Since 2023, DeSouza Associates is also the Secretariat for the RSV Specialist Interest Group of ISIRV and presently managing the next event in Brazil, 2025.

In 2023 DeSouza Associates assisted an Oxford based UK client with several aspects of the management of an international pandemic sciences conference. This was aimed at academics, industry people, policy and civil personnel and discussed practical solutions to global pandemic threats.
We assisted with the following:
- Setting up the conference micro-site
- Assistance with the registration and abstract submission modules
- E-marketing mailshots
- Delegate management including visa letters
- On-site attendance
- Management of on-site registration to include producing the badges and lanyards
- Post-meeting feedback survey
We have also worked with a number of other medical clients and have assisted in co-ordinating small Advisory Board meetings, both in the UK and US, as well as other medical events.
