Read the 2nd part of Laura’s Agent Accor Day where she had a whistlestop tour of the Accor Hotels in London to experience the different brands. Part 1 can be found here

Lunch stop was the Novotel London West – the hotel has 30 meeting rooms and on that day over 28 of them were booked for the Annual Geek Fest Convention. Lunch was eaten in silence as everyone was so busy looking at the attendees in all their splendour!! It was great to see the meeting rooms in action as it allowed us to see first-hand the versatility. With some rooms offering Private Bars, Entrances and Terraces I was shocked by the sheer scale of some of the rooms, the ‘Champagne Suite’ being the largest seating 1200 for a banquet. If accommodation is required one of the 630 bedrooms should do you nicely. A rarity for London- all 3 standards of room are of equal size but the Exec and Premium Exec rooms of course offer more amenities.

Now sporting a full stomach we moved on to our penultimate hotel Ibis Earls Court, there are 504 bedrooms all of the same category but 130 on the top floor have been refurbished especially for conference delegates. Within the hotel there is the ‘George and Dragon’ pub serving traditional British drinks and snacks, a big hit with international guests. Attached to the hotel but with a second separate entrance is the ILEC Conference Centre; a great conference space for up to 1200 people that can be divided in to 9 rooms in 30 configurations allowing great flexibility. There is a self-catering kitchen on site so one to remember when a client wants to bring their own catering.

Final stop was the Sofitel London Heathrow, the only hotel directly connected to Terminal 5. A vast venue sporting 578 Bedrooms, 45 Meeting Rooms, Restaurants, Bars, even a Hair Studio and Newspaper shop. Unsurprisingly, I didn’t get to view all 45 meeting rooms but I had a great insight into what’s to offer, from the Lecture Theatre with it’s deluxe Hugo Boss seats to the huge Arora Suite with it’s 1300 capacity. There is an indoor zen garden linked to some of the meeting rooms; the perfect place for a break.

I had a great day and it was a great opportunity to learn about the Accor brands- thanks Jane for organising it.
